Week 11
They want to learn and get a good
education, to get some skills to work, to get some knowledge to be independent,
and to get some and some. In fact, there are some of our social friends and
people live with us, eat the same meal that we eat, and like to build a new
life like us. However, maybe because our
emotion very strong, so, we treat them
like incapable.
I
think you know them. Yes, there are " special needs" . we should give
them a chance to get what they want to get( of course depend in their case). Actually,
I learnt a lot of concepts that will
help me to deal with this category in our life and teaching.
You are right, sometimes it's just emotions that determine, our attitude towards students with special needs.
ReplyDeleteI once discussed with a colleague, who said she would prefer to have the bright and motivated students and not have to bother with the not-so-smart or lazy ones. I realized that many years teaching students with special needs had changed my attitude. Because actually, there is nothing as rewarding as seeing the difference I as a teacher have been able to make in the life of one of my special needs students! A teachers work is very valuable at all levels, but as a special needs teacher you really can see the results of your work!
My presentation was only a quick eye-opener-type of session, but if you later need some links to study, feel free to contact me, I'll be happy to give you links for further readings!
